❌ Objection 1: “That’s just culture, not Islam.”

✅ Why It Fails:

• Cultural practices that align with Islamic scripture are religiously justified.

❌ Objection 2: “You’re taking it out of context.”

✅ Why It Fails:

• Context matters — and the full context of the Quran and Hadith only reinforces the point.

• The claim that critics “don’t understand context” often relies on post-hoc reinterpretations that contradict the classical tafsir and legal consensus.

• For example:

  • Quran 4:34 allows wife beating after admonishment and separation — that’s context, and it still permits violence.

  • Quran 9:5 (“kill the polytheists”) is part of the “Sword Verse” context — and abrogates peaceful verses, not the other way around.

❌ Objection 3: “That’s not what most Muslims believe.”

✅ Why It Fails:

• The beliefs of Muslims are not the same as the teachings of Islam.

❌ Objection 4: “But Christianity has problems too!”

✅ Why It Fails:

• This is a textbook tu quoque fallacy (“you too”).

• Even if Christianity or other religions had flaws (which can be debated), it does nothing to invalidate the critique of Islam.

• And unlike Islam, Christianity has undergone radical reformation, does not claim legal dominance, and is not enforced in theocratic states.

You cannot justify evil in one system by pointing to perceived evil elsewhere.

✅ Why It Fails:

• The “one interpretation” claim ignores 1,400 years of consensus.

• Modern soft re-interpretations are reactionary and often discredited by traditional scholars.

Ask them: “Which classical school of Islamic law rejects stoning, apostasy death, or jizya?”
